Kai Perry

Kai M. Perry has more than 10 years of experience in the fields of youth development, urban education, and social justice.  She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Hampton University, an M.A. in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University, and she is pursuing a Ph.D. in educational psychology at the University of Connecticut. Kai’s primary research interests focus on the intersection of racial identity development and academic achievement among students in urban schools, and she is conducting educational research at Yale University’s School of Medicine in the department of pediatrics. A New Haven resident, Kai is a member of Pi Lambda Theta’s International Honor Society in Education and the Amistad Committee. She has been a member of the NAACP Connecticut Branch, the National Association of Women Psychologists and the Society for Community Research and Action.
