Weʼre offering you interactive and inspiring social justice, community activism and leadership training.

GALA’s program includes:
• Interactive and informative tours aboard the Amistad Freedom Schooner
• In-person/virtual leadership workshops and activities specifically designed for the empowerment of girls
• Peer-led team building activities
• Interfacing with community leaders
We’ll explore:
• The history and relevance of the Amistad Uprising of 1839
• The impact and tools of non-violent activism
• Issues of identity, oppression, privilege and equality
• How to build your leadership and teamwork skills
• Where and how young leaders like you can lead us through uncertain
and challenging times
– Workshops and discussions about how to lead and affect
positive change in your communities.
– Instructor-led participation with your peers in a collaborative
community service project focused on achieving social justice.
Upon completion:
• Participation will fulfill mastery-based learning credit
• All participants will receive college recommendation letters
