Discovering Amistad's summer tour has come to a close, with stops along the Connecticut Shoreline, up the Hudson River in New York, and out to the eastern tip of Long Island. We welcomed visitors aboard, where our education team shared insights about how the ship was built, the powerful story of the Amistad Rebellion, and how we continue to use the vessel today.

Season Highlights:

  • 7 ports: New Haven, New London, Mystic, Yonkers, Montauk, Stamford, Kingston

  • 9,000+ visitors

  • 4 Proclamations naming July 30th Amistad Day in Yonkers NY

  • Celebrated the 185th Anniversary of the Amistad US Landfall in Montauk where it all happened.
