Teachers throughout the state are invited to join our crew and educators for a sail to recognize your dedication to Connecticut's students! In addition to enjoying a complementary sail aboard the replica of the Amistad, teachers will learn about incorporating the historic story of the ship and its legacy into classrooms.
Saturday, September 15
from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Note: Location for the sail has been changed from Bridgeport to Long Wharf Pier in New Haven
A light breakfast will be provided at 9:30
Registration is required and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Limit is 35 guests.
Please be aware that the sail is dependent on the weather
All sail guests are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure. It is important to be prompt because we don’t want to leave anyone behind at the dock or keep our guests waiting on our departure. As of now, the weather looks good for our sails; however, should that change, we will post information on our website and Discovering Amistad's Facebook page.
What to bring
It gets cooler once we are out sailing, and weather can change quickly once we are out on the water. Please bring a warm layer (fleece or sweater), a water-resistant shell or rain jacket for wind protection, and closed-toe shoes.
