Amistad’s volunteers celebrated at the end of sailing season.
As the 2023 Voyage for Freedom draws to a close, Discovering Amistad’s leadership paused this weekend to thank the “A Team” – the incredible group of volunteers who work on our ship all year long. They have contributed thousands of hours of free labor – rigging, sanding, varnishing and painting the ship, serving as crew on voyages and providing shore support. Paula Mann-Agnew, DA Executive Director, told the gathering at Spouter’s Tavern at the Mystic Seaport Museum, “we could not fulfill our educational mission without your dedicated service.”
